A new £5m auditorium has been opened at The Queen’s College, thanks to a leading donation from Ukrainian businessman Vadim Shulman.

We are absolutely delighted to receive this gift and we are profoundly grateful to Mr Shulman for his support.

The Shulman Auditorium was opened at a ceremony on 17 November by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. Designed by architects Berman Guedes Stretton, the new 120-seat auditorium is located in the tranquil Nun’s Garden, one minute’s walk away from the College’s neoclassical quadrangles and situated between the medieval walls of the Nun’s Garden.

'We are absolutely delighted to receive this gift and we are profoundly grateful to Mr Shulman for his support,' said Professor Paul Madden, the Provost of Queen’s. 'The Shulman Auditorium is a wonderful addition to the College’s historic main site.

'The support of benefactors was critical to the College’s ability to go ahead with the building — and, more generally, donations have been fundamental to our financial well-being in recent years. We cannot thank our supporters enough.'
