Priorities
Sport
Throughout its history, Oxford's world-renowned academic excellence has been partnered with outstanding sporting achievement.
In 1954, Roger Bannister first broke the four minute mile at our Iffley Road track. However, many of our facilities are over 40 years old, and are unable to satisfy the demands of a growing student population with a diversifying set of sporting and leisure interests.
We urgently need to fund:
- state-of-the-art new facilities at the Iffley Road Sports Complex - which have been approved by Oxford City Council
- an endowment fund to offset the personal financial burden that University sport places on individuals, and to pay for professionally qualified coaches.
