BursariesThere are nearly 12,000 undergraduates at Oxford at any one time. In 2011, nearly 2,700 of these received Oxford Opportunity Bursaries. We believe that no student should be deterred from applying to Oxford for financial reasons. Since tuition fees rose to £9,000 per year in October 2012, Oxford University and its colleges has offered the most generous no-strings attached financial support for UK and EU students from the lowest income households, amounting to £6.6m per year but we need to do more.
For students from the lowest-income households (less than £16,000 per year) in the UK and EU, £7,500 per annum would provide a student with a maintenance bursary and essential contribution towards tuition fees. However, all gifts, of whatever size, are vital - even the smallest donation can be amalgamated to create a full bursary.
The Moritz-Heyman Scholarship Programme and meeting the Challenge
Help us to reach our goal of £300 million for disadvantaged undergraduate support through this innovative challenge.
Access and Outreach
The University coordinates a wide range of access activities and school visits, which aim to raise educational aspirations and accomplishments. This work is intrinsically linked to our undergraduate support package. All money raised for this purpose counts towards the Moritz-Heyman Challenge.

How to support Overseas Students
Oxford's university community is truly international. Students currently come from 138 countries around the world and study a wide range of subjects. They make up one third of our student body, including 14 percent of our full-time undergraduate students and 63 percent of our full-time postgraduates.
We are keen to ensure that, in the long term, financial aid exists to ensure that all students can benefit from our support, with no economic or geographic barriers standing in their way.
On average, it costs £36,000 per annum to fund an undergraduate student from outside of the UK/EU. The University is seeking to increase its scholarship provision to enable students to take up their place at Oxford, irrespective of background or nationality, with the security of a fully funded scholarship. All gifts, of whatever size, are vital, as even the smallest donation can be amalgamated to create a full scholarship.
