Every year OUAFC competes against Cambridge University in the Varsity match, one of the longest standing football fixtures in the world. The match has been played annually since 1873 (with a break for the World Wars). Oxford University Women's Association Football Club, OUWAFC, was founded in the 1980s and merged with OUAFC in 1998.The first Women's Varsity Match was played in 1986. From 2015, OUAFC has 5 teams (3 men’s, 2 women’s) competing in BUCS for the University of Oxford. OUAFC University players train 3 times a week with regular weekly matches and the average cost per player is around £150 annually with Men’s and Women’s Blues expenses increasing a further £150 for additional match expenses. Here are some ways your donation can make a difference: •£10 will pay for two training balls. •£25 will cover the cost of a referee. •£100 will pay for an hour of training full-pitch on floodlit astroturf. •£700 will cover the cost of one team’s travel expenses for the year. •£2000 will cover the cost of one team’s coaching expenses for the year.
