The Topolski Fund

The chance to compete in The Boat Race and The Lightweight Boat Races, alongside studying at one of the world’s top universities, provides an unrivalled educational experience for the students who take part.

Named in honour of Daniel Topolski, who dedicated much of his life to Oxford rowing, the Topolski Fund is a permanent endowment fund that aims to provide the four Oxford University clubs with a foundation level of funding in the absence of sponsorship. In doing so, the Fund protects the amateur status of the races and ensures that Oxford students of any background can enjoy this unique experience without significant financial burden.

The Fund is managed by Oxford University Endowment Management, and the net income is used to cover the essential costs of operating a world-leading university rowing programme: coaching and support staff, equipment, training camps, race fees, medical and physio support, travel expenses and insurance. The fund is required to benefit men and women equally at all times.
