Oxford University Cycling Club

OUCC was founded in 1873, making it likely the oldest student cycling club in the world. This means 2023 will be our 150th Anniversary, and it’s fair to say we have some exciting offerings planned to mark the occasion!

The club has gone from strength-to-strength in recent years, more than tripling the membership to over 150 active riders. We ensure that the club welcomes, supports, and nurtures everyone on two wheels - from casual riders who just want to spin round the Cotswolds in the sun, to those looking to podium at BUCS events.

This year, we are really keen to re-engage with our alumni. To this end we have some goals that we’d love your help with, and a few perks of being an alum to offer in return:

• To financially support the current generation of OUCC riders - all the way from those new to riding up to those competing at the highest levels nationally (even internationally) with equipment, coaching, and subsidies for race entry and transport
• To invite alumni along to club events - including our annual Hill Climb, Cuppers TT, Anniversary Dinner (a formal dinner in a college - to be held in early 2023), and our ‘150th Anniversary Celebration Event’ - with relay TTTs on a closed roads circuit
• To offer special ‘Anniversary Edition’ alumni Le Col kit
• To produce a termly newsletter to keep alumni up-to-date with all of our results, initiatives, and events
• To establish and maintain a database of OUCC alumni to allow a broad network of riders, new and old, to connect

With your support we can achieve the following:

• £200 - Full race entry for men’s and women’s teams to the Oxfordshire Road Race League
• £500 - Purchase of an aerodynamic disc wheel for TTs
• £750 - Purchase of a road bike to make the transition into the sport easier for those considering taking it up
• £2,000 - Purchase of a TT bike for use by a Blues Performance Scheme athlete, who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford one to compete at their full potential for the university
• £2,700 - Club coaching for the year
